Effective October 25, 2026 · Current iPhone release

NapT uses location to help with trip alerts and sends place and route requests to Google. Saved destinations and active trip details are stored on your device. The current release does not require an account.

1. About this policy

This policy describes the current NapT iPhone app and this support website. Contact us at naptmain@gmail.com with questions about privacy or your information. Planned account and sign-in features are not part of the current release described here.

2. Location and trip information

With your permission, NapT accesses your device’s location to find transit routes and check your proximity to exit and transfer stops. When you start a trip and allow background location, checks may continue while the app is in the background or the phone is locked. Tapping Stop Napt requests that active trip tracking and remaining trip alarms stop.

To provide destination suggestions and routes, NapT sends information to Google Places and Google Routes. Depending on the action, requests can include your search text, selected place or station, origin and destination coordinates, and requested departure time. Your current coordinates may be included as a location bias for suggestions. Requests go directly from the app to the service.

NapT also requests agency and route information from MTA Bus Time. These route-matching requests use agency or route information, rather than sending a continuous rider location history to MTA. Third-party services receive network information such as an IP address when the app contacts them and may handle information under their own policies.

3. Information stored on your device

NapT stores recent and favorite destinations, destination names and coordinates, usage counts and last-used times, your active itinerary, alert settings, alarm identifiers, and location-alert progress locally. Location-alert progress can include the most recent accepted location timestamp, accuracy, and distance to the target stop. These records help restore a trip and avoid repeated alerts. NapT does not implement cloud account syncing in the current release.

Local information can remain until the app replaces or removes it, or its app data is removed from the device. Device backup and restoration may affect local retention. End an active trip before deleting the app, so it can cancel its scheduled alarms.

4. Alarms and device permissions

NapT uses Apple’s AlarmKit to schedule and cancel system alarms. Alarm labels can include the relevant stop or transfer instructions and may be visible on your device’s alarm presentation. You control alarm and location permissions in iPhone Settings. Denying or revoking permission can limit trip features. Disabling location does not itself cancel an already scheduled system alarm; stop the trip to request cancellation.

5. Support and feedback

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond, investigate reported issues, and maintain relevant support records. Messages are handled through our email provider and retained as needed for those purposes. You can ask us to delete your correspondence, subject to any applicable retention obligations.

The app’s feedback link opens an optional Google Form. Information you submit there is shared with us through Google Forms. Google’s handling of email, forms and route-service information is described in its Privacy Policy. Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information or precise trip details that are unnecessary to your request.

6. Advertising, accounts and other uses

The current release does not include account registration, advertising, or an in-app behavioral analytics feature. We do not sell rider information. Support requests are used for support; sending a message is not treated as permission for promotional emails or research invitations.

Apple may process App Store, TestFlight, diagnostics and device-service information according to your device settings and Apple’s privacy policy. These platform services are separate from NapT’s local trip records.

7. This support website

This website has no registration form, advertising scripts or site analytics scripts added by NapT. It is hosted using OpenAI Sites and its hosting infrastructure. Hosting providers may process technical request information, such as IP addresses and browser details, to deliver and secure the site. Clicking an email link opens your email app; it does not submit a message until you send one.

8. Your choices and requests

You can manage location, Precise Location and alarm permissions in iPhone Settings, stop a trip in the app, and choose what information to share with support. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information and other rights under applicable law. Email naptmain@gmail.com to make a request. We may need information sufficient to verify and fulfill the request. Local trip records that have not been sent to us are managed on your device.

9. Changes to this policy

We will update this page if NapT’s data practices change, including before introducing account features that change how information is handled. The effective date above identifies this version.
